Adriana rubbed her eyes as she woke up. The sun was shining in her room and she sighed. "So much for sleeping in..." She mumbled to herself. She grabbed her clothes, a towel, and her brush, then headed towards the bathroom. When she got there, she saw Caroline, Darius, Ayla, Chase, and Zane in their pajamas as well, waiting for the bathroom.
"What's going on?" She asked Zane as Caroline pounded on the door. Zane turned to Adriana and replied, "Logan went in there two hours ago. He's been in there forever and he's not coming out."
Adriana rolled her eyes and replied, "What, is he on his period or something?"
Zane snickered at Adriana's joke and then moved out of her way as she shoved her way forward. Adriana banged on the door and shouted, "LOGAN! You've got two seconds to get out of there before I tear this door down."
"Hold your horses woman! It's not easy being as sexy as me." Logan replied.
Adriana counted to two and then turned to face the others. She looked at Ayla and said, "Go through the door and unlock the door please."
Ayla flinched. "But what if he's naked? I don't want to be scarred for life!" She protested.
Adriana sighed and then turned back to the door. "Logan," She said somewhat calmly, "You have one minute to get out of there before I call Marcus. ONE!"
Logan shot out of the bathroom like a bullet and Adriana grinned, pleased. She entered the bathroom quickly and locked the door. She ignored everyone yelling at her and then showered and changed. When Adriana exited, she blew everyone an air kiss and headed downstairs for breakfast. After an hour and a half, everyone was downstairs as well, eating chocolate chip, blueberries, and banana pancakes.
Caroline was sitting at the table with Logan on one side and Zane on the other. Kelton was sitting across from her looking disdainfully at the pancakes.
ReplyDelete"What not dark enough for you?" Logan teased and recieved and elbow from Caroline. "Leave him alone, we all can't be as happy-go-lucky as you Wind-Boy. Caroline smiled and ate her blueberry pancake.
Zane looked up when Adriana walked down and grinned. "Hey."
Ayla sat by herself across the kitchen. The light hearted atmosphere was too much for her. She'd rather skip the nonsense.
Darius slowly walked down the stairs, his eyes skimming over the others for Adriana. When he saw her, his eyes sparkle, but immediately dimmed when he saw she was sitting with Zane. He frowned and then walked over to the counter and grabbed three blueberry pancakes and began to wolf them down.
ReplyDeleteAdriana smiled at Zane as she walked over to him, her plate stacked with chocolate chip pancakes. She sat down in a chair next to him and then laid her head on his shoulder. She gave him a smile and then sat back up in her chair.
"That was an interesting morning," She commented, picking up a pancake with her fork.
Chase grabbed seven pancakes, one blueberry, one banana, and four chocolate chip. He walked over to Ayla and murmured, "Hi. Is it okay if I sit here? I'd sit with the other, but they seemed crowded enough as it is..."
"Of course it was, every morning is. If we were normal it wouldn't have been but who likes normal?" Zane chuckled.
ReplyDelete"Regular people?" Kelton muttered.
"So, it's too crowded over there to sit so you'd rather sit with my than by yourself. I wouldn't have minded if you weren't here," Ayla said. She really wouldn't. She liked being by herself at times and she didn't need sympathy.
Adriana giggled at Zane and Kelton and chewed her pancakes before replying, "Right. Because normal people have soo much fun in their lives."
ReplyDeleteAdriana waved her fingers and a smoky, miniature toy horse appeared and ran around the table, neighing and running over people's pancakes, leaving behind airy trails of smoke.
Chase looked at Ayla and then shrugged. "I wasn't trying to talk to you or anything, I just needed a place to sit. But, okay, I'll leave. See you later." Chase said as he walked away, looking for somewhere to sit.
"Thanks for that," Logan muttered. "I asked for chocolate chip pancakes not smoky pancakes."
ReplyDeleteCaroline rolled her eyes. "Logan your jokes are lame," She teased.
"Yes, you just needed a place to sit. You didn't want to have a conversation with me," Ayla mumbled.
Adriana rolled her eyes at Logan and continued to eat her pancakes. The chocolate chips melted in her mouth and she grinned. Suddenly she waved her fingers again and a smoky, pink tiara appeared on Zane's head. She stifled a giggle, and then continued to eat her pancakes, wondering if he'd notice.
ReplyDeleteChase sat down outside, eating his pancake and sighing. He created a little blob of water and began to play with it, then tossed it and began to eat.
Zane chuckled at Logan and continued eating his banana pancakes until he felt his hair shift a little. He glanced at Adriana. "May I ask what is on my head?" Knowing she was up to something.
ReplyDeleteAyla looked after Chase as he sat outside. She shouldn't have been rude, but he didn't actually want to speak with her, he just need somewhere to eat.
Adriana shoveled the last of her pancakes when Zane said, "May I ask what is on my head?"
ReplyDeleteCaroline and Logan looked at Zane's head and burst into laughter. Adriana put a finger to her lips, but it was too late. Zane's hands flew to his hair and the tiara dissolved as it came into contact with his hand, causing the pink smoke to cascade over Zane's face.
Adriana began to laugh along with Caroline and Logan and they all watched Zane as he shook his head to rid himself of the pink smoke.
Chase sighed as he ate his pancakes and thought, I shouldn't have told Ayla I just needed a place to sit. I mean, I would have like to talk to her...but...she didn't even want me near her...
Zanr stuck his tounge out at Adriana. "Just what I needed, a pretty pink crown to match my pretty face," he joked.
ReplyDeleteCaroline and Logan laughed.
Kelton rolled his eyes.
Ayla sighed, got up and scraped her barely touched pancakes into the garbage before sitting back down. She placed her hands in her lap and watched them for a few moments.
Adriana stuck her tongue out at Zane and then replied, "Pink is definitely your color."
ReplyDeleteChase laid down on his back after finishing off his pancakes and watched the clouds as they moved lazily across the sky.
"Of course it is! Everything is my color!" Zane chuckled.
ReplyDeleteCaroline, finished with her plate was about to throw her pancakes away but Logan interrupted her.
"No! I'll eat them!" Logan said and reached for her plate and scrapped them onto his own. "Wasn't five pancakes enough?" Caroline laughed.
"Nope," Logan said with a mouthful of blueberry pancakes.
"You're going to get fat," Caroline teased.
"Nothing can ruin this sexy figure!" Logan swiped his hands down the side of his body and grinned. Caroline rolled her eyes.
Ayla smiled when she heard Caroline tease Logan. Why couldn't she be more like that. Be more carefree and unsecretive, instead of a loner who doesn't let anyone get close.
Adriana burst out laughing as she saw Logan referring to his 'sexy' body. She reached across the table and grabbed one of Caroline's chocolate chip pancakes and grinned.
ReplyDelete"Don't worry Caroline, we'll make sure Logan stays as skinny as possible by eating his food." She said, munching on the pancake.
"Hey!" Logan frowned, another mouthful of his blueberry pancake muffling his reply. "My pancakes!" He swallowed his food and brought the plate full of pancakes to him he covered them with both arms and shielded them away from Zane and Adriana. "Mine."
ReplyDeleteCaroline giggled and rolled her eyes.
Adriana leaned across the table, staring into Logan eyes. She batted her eyelashes at him and murmured, "You wouldn't share? Not even with me?"
ReplyDelete"Nope," Logan grinned and shoved pancake in his mouth.
ReplyDeleteCaroline laughed. "He's a wee bit selfish."
Ayla glanced up. They seemed to be having fun.
Adriana frowned and then threw herself forward, crashing into Logan and then causing him to fall backwards out of him chair, taking her down with him. Adriana grabbed the plate of pancakes as it fell with them and sat on top of Logan, eating the pancakes contentedly.
ReplyDeleteLogan frowned once more and soon a strong wind blew Adriana off of Logan and across the kitchen. "Have the pancakes. I'm stuffed!" Logan belched and grinned.
ReplyDeleteCaroline had a disgusted look on her face and smacked Logan's chest. "Easy big boy, don't upchuck!" She laughed.
Ayla couldn't take anymore. She needed to be away from all the laughter and happiness. She went outside and began walking, she didn't no where she was going.
Adriana shrieked with glee as a strong wind carried her off of Logan and into the kitchen. She set the remaining pancakes on the counter and then winked. She spun around and pointed her fingers at Logan and grinned as she saw the smoky figures picking up Logan and then wrapping around him like vines.
ReplyDeleteAdriana blew Logan a kiss and said, "Thanks for the pancakes babe!"
Zane bit his lip and watched Adriana curiously.
ReplyDeleteLogan narrowed his eyes and the wind blew away the smoke. "No." He frowned and yawned. "I'm tired. I'm going outside to lay in the sun. You coming?" Logan looked down at Caroline who nodded.
Logan turned around what about you two, meaning Adriana and Zane. "And you vampire boy? Oh right, you don't like sunlight." Logan joked and made his way outside. He nodded to Chase and flopped down in the grass.
Caroline smacked the back of his head. "Stop being mean to Kelton you jerk," She laughed and followed him outside.
Adriana wandered back into the living room as Logan and Caroline left and then appeared at Zane's side. She gave him a soft smile and then asked softly, "What are you biting your lip for? Are you nervous about something?"
ReplyDeleteZane didn't even realize. "Ah, maybe, er I don't know. Do you want to go outside our something?" He asked trying to change the subject.
ReplyDeleteAyla walked away from the group and towards the forest.
"Where's she going?" Caroline asked.
Adriana smiled at Zane as he tried to change the subject and replied, "Sure, I mean, if you want to. I'm fine with whatever."
ReplyDelete"Moi aussi," Zane winked and headed outside. "I think I need more sun. I'm almost as pale as well... I don't know, let's go." He laughed.
ReplyDeleteKelton sighed, got up and made his way outside. He sat down in the shade. Ignoring Logan's annoying assumption that he was a vampire. Wrong.
Adriana followed Zane as he headed outside and then jumped onto his back. "Giddy up, 'o' great magical unicorn!" She shouted, forming a black horn on Zane's forehead.
ReplyDeleteZane laughed and bounded outside. "I'm not neighing!" He flopped on the ground and sat down, Adriana still on his back. "What now?" He looked around so he could face her.
ReplyDeleteAdriana felt the ground rushing forward and found herself still on Zane's back, but he was lying down on the grass. Adriana rolled off of him and then laid down beside him, using his arm as a pillow.
ReplyDelete"Well, I dunno. We could stare at the clouds or lay here and talk..." She said, looking at Zane's face as she spoke.
Zane looked back at her and smirked. "Clouds? I haven't done that in years!" He laughed.
ReplyDeleteAdriana rolled her eyes and said, "Oh right. I forgot. You're too cool to look at clouds. Because you're a big boy now."
ReplyDeleteAdriana looked up at the clouds and then added, "It's okay. The clouds are staring at you anyways."
"I know I am, that's why I don't do it," Zane joked. He turned his attentions to the fluffy white clouds as they drifted lazily across the blue sky.
ReplyDelete"Whatever you say Zane," Adriana sighed, turning her attention back to the sky. She snuggled into Zane's arm and then closed her eyes.
ReplyDelete"Why is your arm so comfy?" She asked, her voice muffled as Adriana buried her face in his arm.
"Because of my manley muscles," Zane laughed.
ReplyDeleteAdriana laughed into Zane's arm and then turned back to face the clouds. She poked Zane in the cheek and replied, "Maybe it's because you still have some baby fat left."
ReplyDeleteZane frowned. "Do I look fat to you?"
ReplyDeleteAdriana snickered as Zane frowned at her and growled, "Do I look fat to you?"
ReplyDeleteAnd held his face in her hand and then angled it this way and that way. After inspecting him for a few seconds, Adriana patted his head and said, "It depends on the angle, baby cheeks."
Zane sat up and glared at her. "Every angle I'm perfectly good looking." He laughed and winked at her. "Take it or leave it, your just jealous you don't have this body."
ReplyDeleteAdriana snorted in disbelief and then rolled her eyes. "Right," Adriana drawled, "I'm soooooo jealous."
ReplyDelete"Of course you are," Zane chuckled.
ReplyDelete"Whatever helps you sleep at night, baby boy." Adriana shot back as she ruffled his hair, grinning.
ReplyDelete"Whatever," Zane nudged her.
ReplyDeleteAdriana nudged Zane back, and then winked playfully at him. "Don't get into a pushing match with me, cos I'll totally beat you!" Adriana teased.
ReplyDeleteZane rolled his eyes and stood up. "Let's go for a walk." He held out his hand to help Adriana up.
ReplyDeleteAdriana took Zane's hand and then intertwined their fingers. She smiled at Zane awkwardly and then blushed. What am I doing!? Zane's just a friend, and besides, there's no way he'd like me. She thought frantically to herself.
ReplyDeleteAdriana froze for a moment and then covered quickly. "Just in case you get scared by a leaf run amok." She teased, her smile becoming somewhat forced.
Zane chuckled. His heart fluttered whenever he was near Adriana. "Where do you want to go for a walk?" He asked.
ReplyDeleteAdriana thought for a moment and then shrugged. "Well, we do have this giant green field to walk around in. It'd be a shame to just let it go to waste." She said, smiling as her heart pounded in her chest as she continued to hold Zane's hand.
ReplyDeleteZane smirked and lead Adriana across the field. "Adriana..." He began. "I like being around you. Your so fun, and...I don't know."
ReplyDeleteAdriana bit her lip as Zane started to talk about her and then avoided his gaze. "I like being around you too Zane." She said, blushing. "You're always so...I don't know, relaxed? You just--you always seem to cheer me up. I'm glad we're best friends."
ReplyDeleteAdriana let go out Zane's hand and then wrapped her arms around him in a hug, burying her face in his chest.
"Best friends, right." Zane nodded and hugged her back.
ReplyDeleteAdriana closed her eyes at Zane's words and felt her heart slow. She took in a deep breath and then looked up into Zane's beautiful, dark eyes. Her eyes slid down to his lips and she let out a shaky breath. She stood up on her tiptoes, gave him a quick kiss, and then ran away.
ReplyDeleteZane closed his eyes when Adriana's lips touched his. He reopened them to see Adriana run away. "Adriana! Wait!"
ReplyDeleteAdriana kept running even though she heard Zane calling after her. I kissed Zane, I kissed Zane, I kissed Zane. The same thought repeated itself through her mind, like she knew what she had done, but she couldn't understand it.
ReplyDeleteSuddenly Adriana tripped over a root and went sprawling towards the ground. She slammed her face into the grass and then shook her head hazily.
Then she banged her fists on the ground and cussed under her breath.
Zane eyes widened when he saw Adriana trip over the tree root and sped over to her. He bent down and looked at her. "Are you alright?" He asked.
ReplyDelete"I'm fine Zane!" Adriana snapped rudely. She saw shock in Zane's eyes and then cursed herself. "No--I mean, I didn't meant to be mean, I just...I don't know."
ReplyDeleteZane sighed and helped Adriana up. "I don't think you broke it. Are you okay?" He asked again his eyes soft.
ReplyDeleteAdriana avoided Zane's gaze and then yanked her wrist out of his hands. "I'm fine Zane," She mumbled. "Really."
ReplyDelete"Look, Adriana. If you want to pretend it didn't happen go right ahead. But I won't." Zane stood up and let his hands fall to his sides.
ReplyDelete"But we're just best friends!" Adriana protested. "That's what you said, isn't it Zane? Just...just best friends?"
ReplyDelete"No, that's what you said Adriana. I just..." Zane sighed. "If that's what you want. Alright."
ReplyDeleteAdriana felt tears welling up in her eyes. "No." She murmured. "It's not what I want Zane. I just...I don't want to ruin our friendship."
ReplyDelete"Who said it would?" Zane asked and bent down once more.
ReplyDelete"I didn't--I don't want--" Adriana stumbled for words as she looked up and became trapped in Zane's eyes.
ReplyDeleteZane leaned forward and kissed Adriana. He couldn't help himself. He pulled back and looked down. "I'm sorry," He mumbled.
ReplyDelete"Don't be.." Adriana whispered as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Zane leaned forward and their foreheads touched. Adriana closed her eyes and then kissed Zane back.
ReplyDeleteZane wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer. It felt as if a worry-some weight had been lifted.
ReplyDeleteAdriana felt Zane's arms around her waist and smiled faintly. She felt her heart pound faster and felt crazy with giddiness. Zane was here, with her. And he'd kissed her. Or she'd kissed him. One of the two.
ReplyDeleteZane pulled away and rested his forhead on the top of her head. He looked down at her with a smile, his arms still wrapped around her waist.
ReplyDeleteAdriana smiled back up at Zane and then closed her eyes and sighed happily. If she could freeze this moment and live in it forever, she totally would.
ReplyDelete"Shall we go back?" Zane chuckled.
ReplyDeleteAdriana breathed in Zane's smell and then reluctantly said, "I guess so. I mean, yeah."
ReplyDeleteZane smirked. "I don't want a search party out for us."
ReplyDeleteAdriana sighed and mumbled, "I guess you're right, but who's gonna come onto private property?"
ReplyDelete"Mutants," Zane chuckled.
ReplyDeleteAdriana cracked a smile and said, "We could take them down."
ReplyDeleteZane snapped his fingers and a small flame sat at the tip of his finger. "Easily."
ReplyDeleteAdriana smiled at Zane and then waved her hand over the fire dancing on his fingers, a wavy white-blue smoke emerging from her fingertips and putting it out.
ReplyDelete"But they aren't here, so we don't have to worry." She said, kissing him on the nose.
Zane frowned. "But I like playing with fire."
ReplyDeleteAdriana laughed at Zane and took his hand. "Yes, but now is not the time to start a wildfire."
ReplyDelete"But surely someone would be able to put it out! Caroline can control the weather, she can make it rain," Zane pouted. "I want my fire."
ReplyDeleteAdriana rolled her eyes at Zane and then bit her lip, trying to hold back her laughter. "You can use your fire for something useful, like cooking."
ReplyDelete"Cooking?" Zane pouted.
ReplyDelete"Cooking...or roasting our enemies alive." Adriana amended, stifling a giggle as she saw Zane pouting.
ReplyDelete"Roasting.... I could start a campfire!" Zane suggested.
ReplyDelete[ And the sky magically turns dark and everyone realizes it's nighttime. ]
ReplyDelete"That sounds like fun! It's already nighttime. Maybe we could start one tonight!" Adriana added, her eyes shining.
(Hahahaha, maybe we should make this a new post since someone joined XD)
ReplyDelete"Yeah!" Zane's eyes lit up, he loved playing with fire, even when he didn't know he was a mutant.
[ You do it:) We'll take turns. ]
ReplyDeleteAdriana took Zane's hand and began to run back towards the house. "Let's go then!"
Zane followed Adriana, a smile on his face.
ReplyDelete[ Come on Alado! You're good at making posts! I believe in you:) ]
